Brea 8K in action

This was the Brea 8K, 2008.  As you can tell it was very wet and rainy.  And cold and dark and dreary and orange.  Fortunately, the race coordinators were nice enough to hand out flattering see-through rain ponchos.

This year was quite the improvement.

Here’s the deceptively flat starting line.

Looking at the picture makes me remember that I should never ever put on my own number.  It’s like looking at a crooked picture on a wall except I can never go back and adjust it.

Almost at the end of the run, when we got to go downhill.  I was finally able to make sure I was running at a conversational pace, something that just doesn’t look right when you’re running by yourself.

Here we have 4 months pregnant and 6 weeks postpartum.  There is hope!
