Off to the doctor we go

I had a great doctor’s appointment today. Admittedly, I still don’t understand how such brief appointments can eat up 2 hours of sick time, but it was still nice to be there. We had a laugh in the waiting room, at the sign that informed us: “Someone will be with you shortly. Please check in with reception. Sit down, relax, and THRIVE.” Because thriving is best done in a waiting room. Which then made me wonder, is there a past tense for thrive? Thrived? Throve? Thriven?

The nurse knew not to weigh me, bp was fine, I got asked how the running was going and teased about it by the NP and LVN. Weight gain is fine. Staying active and running is fine. According to websites, Baby Boy Rothell is about a pound now. A whole pound! Everything looked good and normal and healthy in the ultrasound recap that our NP went over with us. All body parts seemed to be present and accounted for. The placenta is in a good position and there’s plenty of amniotic fluid. His little heartbeat was going at 140-145 bpm. Yay for a very healthy growing baby boy!

Next appointment I have a lot to look forward to… another Glucola and a CBC panel. The fun in pregnancy never ends! šŸ™‚

  1. You’re having a second glucose tolerance test? (Is that what Glucola is?) Why? There really isn’t much reason to even have one as long as you’re healthy and the baby isn’t huge. You might want to research it a bit because really, crashing your body with all that sugar isn’t very good for you.

  2. So you’re saying I shouldn’t have eaten those last 5 cookies either… right? šŸ˜› The first test was because several of my relatives are diabetic. They normally wait until about 26 weeks for the test. Now I want to find out how much sugar is in glucola and how it stacks up to my other not so good food choices.

  3. you’re having a boy! congrats! i guess i’m the last to know but i’m really happy for you! boys are the BEST!!!!! šŸ™‚
