In and around Honolulu

After 9 hours of sleep I can’t tell you how glorious it was to wake up to this.

It was such a lovely thing to look down at the path by the canal and see runners and walkers.  I was excited to get out and 5 miles became 7 it felt so good!

This is the view from the Ilikai Hotel’s restaurant.  We committed to another time share presentation in exchange for luau tickets (they normally run $72 each).  Fortunately we told the person at the beginning that we weren’t going to be buying anything and they were so busy they gave us our free stuff and sent us away sans the 90 minute presentation and loads of guilt.

We were pretty happy about getting off without an abrasive sales pitch and went off to celebrate with Indian food.

Clint was fascinated by a Banyan tree that we saw on our walk to the presentation.  They are pretty cool looking with snaky branches and twisted together trunks.

Later on it sprinkled just enough to produce a rainbow that arched across the sky.  Hawaii does rainbows quite well.
