When in Waikiki, look up Todai’s all you can eat sushi. Not only is the food great (and plentiful and fresh), but you’ll pay less there than you will for a cheese burger and fries down the street. Plus you won’t need to eat again until the next morning. Unless you’re pregnant.
Pregnant and hungry, guilty on both counts.
After lunch we drove around a different part of the coastline, past Hanauma Bay and Koko Head crater.
It was fun to see the color of the water change, along with the beaches, and rock formations.
Clint loved this view. This is also the point where it began to rain in earnest. It did look pretty amazing with the storm coming towards us, shrouding the mountains in misty white fog.
Not the best day for beach goers though.
This is the view from Pali. We were told to go here because it’s supposed to be spectacular. It’s also the sight of the battle that united the islands, in which the losing warriors were forced off the sheer cliff. (I know, nice human interest angle, eh?) Much to our chagrin, we made it on the wrong day for a good see-all-the-way-to-the-ocean view. Here is the view of the thick white fog from the viewpoint.
And now we are DONE with Hawaii pictures. Which is good, because I am completely out of words.
