Snow Day!

Well, the storm that was supposed to be the worst we’d had in 10 years that was supposed to bring 20-24 inches of snow by some reports, has finally arrived.  While the wind and snow were quite bad last night, the snow plows were out at 2:00 am clearing roads.  While I wouldn’t want to be out right now, it’s not nearly as bad as I’d anticipated.  No way did we get 20-24 inches, which I did find a little disappointing.  If we’re going to get such dire predictions of doom gloom and snow, I’d prefer the weather make good on those promises.  Maybe next week.

In the meantime, my chemistry class has been canceled and we are enjoying being homebound.  I thought it appropriate, in light of our current weather, to share a fun book that we were given by a friend in California.  Ah, California, the only state in the contiguous US enjoying nice weather right now…

Anyway, Snow Day! is written by Patricia Lakin and illustrated by Scott Nash.

Isaac is loving the bright pictures and looking at all of the scarves, hats, and goggles.  He is a little young to understand the concept of sledding and getting the day off from school, but I’m sure he will enjoy the book that much more once he understands the true fun of snow days.

Thanks to Sarah and Caitlyn for the book!
